All games are on Saturday, practices are usually just once per week and the night is selected by the coach. The U5 Division only practices for 20 minutes prior to every game. There are only 6 players on each U5 team with 3 on the field at a time. We always need coaches for this division, and unless we have enough coaches the number of players will be limited.
All games and practices will be at the Wesley Chapel District Park.
Importantant Information about the changes to the U5 Soccer Program and a Sample Practice and Gameday Schedule.
We've reduced registration fees this year to $70 for U5 and $100 for all other divisions.

WCAA Recreational Soccer Policies and Information
Uniforms: Registrations
will only be accepted with complete uniform sizing information. Parents
are responsible for providing correct size information for their
player. Parents
must notify their coach within 3 days of uniform distribution of
any sizing problems. If
the WCAA has not provided the sizes specified on the registration
form, the WCAA will replace the uniform at no cost to the player. Otherwise,
players will be required to purchase any uniforms that do not fit
properly and need to be reordered. We
will have sample uniforms at each registration that your child
may try on.
Player
Evaluations: All
players are asked to participate in player evaluations. All
registered players will be selected to a team but players not
attending evaluations are assigned to their teams by lottery. These
evaluations are only used during the Player Selection process
to attempt to even the talent level amongst all the teams in
a division. Soccer
cleats are recommended for all participants.
Player
Selection:
Requests to be placed on the same team as a friend or specific
coach may be noted on your registration but we cannot guarantee that these
requests will be honored. This
is a recreational league and this policy is in affect to keep the talent levels
as even as possible in each division. The
only exception to this policy is each team is allowed to automatically select
the head coach’s children and the children of one assistant coach. Also, “playing
up” or “playing down” an age division is not permitted. This
rule may be waived for medical or special needs players only.
Coaches
Contact: All
players should be contacted by their coach no later than October
13th. If
you have not been contacted by that time, please e-mail us
at soccer@wcaafla.org or
leave a message at (813) 994-6633. Please
make sure you provide us accurate phone numbers, alternate
phone numbers and e-mail addresses on your registration so
that you may be contacted as rapidly as possible. If
your contact information changes after registration, please
provide us your new contact information by sending an e-mail
to soccer@wcaafla.org .
Sponsorships: The
WCAA asks each team’s assistance in acquiring a team sponsor. A
team sponsorship is $250 and allows the sponsor’s name to
be placed on the back of all of their team’s game jerseys. If
you are interested in sponsoring your team, please let your coach
know or contact us at sponsor@wcaafla.org . Additional
sponsorship opportunities are available if you or your organization
is interested. Please
contact sponsor@wcaafla.org for
more information.
Player
Equipment: Each
player will be provided with a game jersey, game socks, soccer
shorts, and a practice shirt. Players
are required to provide their own soccer cleats, shin guards
and soccer ball. Shin
guards must be worn at all practices and games. Ball
sizes are #3 for U5 and U7, #4 for U9 and U11
and #5 for U14.
Practices: Your
coach will select your practice times. Request
for certain practice days can be noted on your registration but
there is no guarantee they will be honored. We
strongly recommend that all players attempt to attend all practices
but every player is provided the opportunity to play at least 50
% of every game whether they attend practices or not.
Volunteer: The WCAA is a non-profit organization and is run completely by volunteers with the exception of a few youth referees. In order to keep registration costs as low as possible, it is necessary for us to enlist the help of parent volunteers to help with concessions and cleanup. Your coach or team parent will provide you with a schedule for help with some of these duties. Usually this requires no more than 30 – 60 minutes of your time. Teams that do not provide volunteers during their allocated time slots may face game forfeiture.
